A Course Designed to Help 'Break the Cycle' of Domestic Violence

The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), with support from the British government in Ukraine, conducted a powerful information campaign titled ‘Break the Circle’. As part of this initiative, Technomatix developed a mobile learning course.

The goal of the course is to stop domestic violence and gender-based violence and ultimately ‘break the cycle’ of mistakes, misunderstandings, and stereotypes that often stem from such incidents.

Throughout the training, participants receive answers to key questions about the manifestations of violence and learn about the necessary actions to prevent them. The course modules complement each other, providing a comprehensive understanding of ways to address this global issue.

Effective Mobile Training

As we embarked on developing the three modules of the course, we received extensive information blocks from the customer and needed to organize them for optimal accessibility. With the assistance of the RISE tool, we were able to address the primary requirements of mobile learning:

  1. Ensuring course accessibility on any device.

  2. Implementing a logical structure that presents information in digestible fragments for easy comprehension and retention.

  3. Employing interactive techniques to effectively convey various types of information.

  4. Incorporating practical exercises during training and knowledge testing upon completion.

Learning Solutions for Module 1

General Issues and Principles of Combating Gender-Based Violence.

This module provides a systematic explanation focused on defining domestic violence, its types, and signs, along with the principles of public policy for preventing such crimes. Several interactive examples have been incorporated into this module to ensure clear comprehension and absorption of the material:

  • We've presented the information block ‘Principle 4R’ as a diagram and included interactive buttons. Detailed information about the four components of this principle becomes visible when a participant clicks on them.

  • Practical cases have been designed in the format of an interactive ‘dialogue with an expert’. To complete the task, a training participant must answer several questions related to each module topic by selecting from the provided options. Upon making a selection, an expert opinion on the matter is displayed.

Learning Solutions for Module 2

Mobile Team of Social and Psychological Assistance in the Community

We’ve logically organized the module’s explanatory blocks, emphasizing key points through design techniques such as fonts, colors, photos, and graphic images.

Particular attention should be given to the interactive ‘matching elements’ we’ve incorporated into one of the practical tasks. After introducing the fundamental principles that guide mobile groups in their activities, we challenge participants to test their knowledge by connecting these principles with their corresponding characteristics. Upon completing the task, participants receive feedback indicating the correct results.

Learning Solutions for Module 3

Shelter for Victims of Violence: An Algorithm for Creating and Providing Activities.

We have designed the block with recommendations for the safe operation of shelters using ‘accordion’ interaction.

This block provides a comprehensive list of essential safety measures, and participants can access descriptions of each security component by clicking on the tabs.

We have also presented a significant module block explaining the algorithm for relocating victims to the shelter, in the form of an interactive ‘slide show’. Each slide is composed of logically arranged text fragments and accompanying images to visualize the content.

A Series of Mobile Learning Courses for Teva Pharmaceuticals

Teva is a prominent international pharmaceutical company and a key player in the Ukrainian market. Technomatix has maintained a long-standing partnership with Teva, and this collaboration holds great value for us.

To date, we have developed six mobile learning courses dedicated to the therapeutic characteristics of various products manufactured by Teva. These training programs equip pharmaceutical sales representatives with knowledge about the medicinal properties of the drugs, enabling them to establish effective communication with healthcare professionals.

Teaching via the RISE Elearning Tool

RISE is a mobile learning tool that has made Teva courses easily accessible and responsive on any device for a more convenient learning experience. We have logically structured each information block and presented data in small, easily digestible portions to align with microlearning principles. Additionally, we've carefully chosen the most suitable interactive techniques tailored to various types of information. Throughout the course, participants engage in practical tasks and undergo knowledge assessments upon completion.

Let's explore a concise overview of the interactive techniques we employed during the development of Teva courses

Slide Show for the SUMAMED Course

One block of this course provides insights into how the active substance of azithromycin behaves within the human body. We've employed an interactive ‘slide show’ format to present this information. As participants navigate through the slides, they encounter concise, logically structured blocks of content, each accompanied by thematic visualizations.

Accordion for the SUDOCREM Course

We have included an information block on the treatment of acne in children of different age groups within the course. This content is presented using an interactive ‘accordion’ format. This technique directs participants' attention to the nuances of treating children based on their age. Clicking on the tabs reveals detailed information about each age category.

Dialogue with an Expert for the OLFEN Course

One practical part of this course is focused on understanding the causes of pain in osteoarthritis. We have designed it using the interactive ‘dialogue with an expert’ format. Participants ask essential questions to a doctor and receive expert answers.

Matching of Elements for the SPASMALGON Course

We have created test tasks in the form of an interactive ‘matching of elements’. Participants match the name of the active substance with its corresponding characteristics and receive immediate feedback on their answers.

Visual Emphasis on Key Information in the ALERON Course

In our courses, including the one centered on Aleron, we break down extensive theoretical content into logically connected sections, allowing participants to concentrate on essential information. Using different font sizes, colors, schemes, and thematic images we emphasize vital accents in the course.

Interactive Buttons for the NOVO-PASSIT Course

The section on the impact of stress on human health includes data on various digestive tract disorders. We’ve designed this information block for clarity, emphasizing key symptoms. Interactive buttons have been added to the accompanying image, allowing learners to click on them to reveal the corresponding symptoms.

We have been familiar with the topic of cybersecurity for a long time, and in collaboration with CRDF Global, we have developed training courses for student audiences and government representatives. Now, it's time to engage all Ukrainian schoolchildren, from first graders to graduates, in our cyber-savvy band.

New e-courses should serve as a playground for cyber empowerment, enabling children and teenagers to independently protect themselves and their gadgets. While online, children often prefer to play rather than study, but what if they could learn through play? It will definitely work! So, we’ve started constructing stories in which boys and girls outsmart cyber scammers, cover their digital footprints, and become adept users.

A Team of Professionals

Incredible specialists worked on every aspect of the project. Educational materials were developed by school teachers and psychologists, skillfully adapted to the distance learning format by our team. Just imagine: more than 10 individuals who contributed to content, methodology, design, programming, animation, and management poured their love and experience into a single course!

Workflow

Everything for Schoolchildren

Cyber hygiene tips galore! But how to capture the interest of children and teenagers in such complex content? We sought questions that provide these answers and, with the help of our partners, found them! Learning through examples, using real cases and relatable characters like Andrew or Helen, yields results. To ensure that the training is effective and engaging, we delved deep into the lives of our young heroes, creating portraits of the target audience. More precisely, multiple portraits, as the course was developed for four age categories of schoolchildren. These categories encompass radically different interests, tastes, and, of course, experiences in cyberspace and using gadgets.

The target audience consists of students from various classes:

Grades 1-4
Grades 5-6
Grades 7-9
Grades 10-11
Characters

33 Characters

We imagined the appearance of the children who will study with us: what kind of characters, smiles, hairstyles, clothes, toys they have. We wanted future course participants to be similar to our characters and even become their virtual friends. Because it's much more fun to wrap hackers around your finger together!

Rules That Aren’t Annoying

Brushing teeth, making the bed, and cleaning dishes – these are some of the most tedious rules in the world for children! They generally dislike any kind of rules or restrictions. Now, imagine introducing an elearning course with seemingly bothersome requirements: don't chat with interesting strangers, create complex passwords, inexplicably protect their devices from viruses, and much more – all while enjoying their favorite gadgets.

Our goal is to ensure that valuable cybersecurity tips don't go unnoticed by young tech enthusiasts. That's why each course is designed to present real cyber challenges during training, where children can explore various solutions. This approach convinces them that our practical life hacks are crucial for avoiding genuine cyber troubles, leaving them nodding in agreement.

Animation

Non-Stop Cartoons

Children's and teenagers' love for cartoons is undeniable. The genres, styles, characters, seasons, tastes, and even the children themselves change, but their fascination with animation remains constant. This is why we embarked on creating a special series featuring cyber adventures, investigations, and victories for course participants. We released a total of 61 episodes, setting a record for the highest number of animated videos in a single project. After all, there's nothing we wouldn't do to make learning enjoyable!

Landing Page

Landing Page

We've developed a landing page to allow anyone interested to explore our course content and easily register for participation.

We've also designed a personalized registration form that lets users choose their role within the distance education system, whether they are teachers, students, or parents. Registration is straightforward and quick.

Learning Management System

We've implemented our own Learning Management System called Moco, including a Distance Learning Module for hosting our educational courses. These courses are grouped into five categories based on students' ages: 1-2 grades, 3-4 grades, 5-6 grades, 7-9 grades, and 10-11 grades.

We've also incorporated a handy auto-assignment plugin developed by our team. This plugin automatically assigns courses to students upon their initial login, depending on the grade level they choose during registration.

When students successfully complete a course, they receive a badge and a certificate. The certificate includes the course completion date, the total hours spent on course materials, the student's name, and a unique serial number for identification.

Promotional Materials

Are our courses important? Absolutely! Equally important is the dissemination of cybersecurity knowledge beyond their boundaries. We took a creative approach to developing the visual style of the promotional materials, seamlessly blending high-quality graphics with an educational context. As a result of our collaboration with partners, badges, clothing patches, and information booklets were produced for schoolchildren of various ages. Additionally, shopping bags and notebooks were created for teachers.

Badges and patches
Booklets
Shoppers

And What's Inside?

In addition to the fact that all promotional materials are branded with the course's style, shoppers and notebooks contain QR codes that provide direct access to the platform's registration page.

The notebook pages feature key course theses, helping owners focus on essential information of cybersecurity.

Notebooks
Stickers

And That's Not All!

Schoolchildren are active users of social networks. Love to exchange emojis and express their emotions with stickers. So we've designed a collection of course character themed stickers that will remind them of their daily cyber hygiene with just one click!

Poster characters

A Hacker Girl who operates at the speed of light? Or the All-Seeing Eye that knows what and where is happening on the web? The design is ready! Students can hang posters of cyber security superheroes at home.

Bringing the Vision to Life

Our goal was to create a high-quality edutainment product. The biggest challenge was finding the right balance between the two main goals of this educational technology: to entertain and to educate. How could we ensure that the medical and artistic components of our story would blend seamlessly into a cohesive whole?

The magic helped:) The expert advice from Teva helped us set priorities. And our scriptwriters, instructional and creative designers, and animators were not afraid to experiment. So, the characters came to life: first in the script, and then on the screen. Animation is real magic!

The Main Characters

Just like your coworkers, these characters lead everyday lives. They have careers, experience highs and lows, and even get sick sometimes. That's because they're designed to be relatable - inspired by real people and their real-life stories!

Nord M.D.

A pillar of the clinic, he is one of their most experienced and talented neurologists. His colleagues consider it a privilege to work alongside him.

Clara, Intern

New to the clinic, Intern Clara is a neurologist brimming with enthusiasm, energy, and a strong determination to succeed.

Prychepa M.D.

Prychepa is a fellow neurologist with unfulfilled ambitions that simmer beneath the surface.

Victor and Irina

This married couple isn't just Dr. Nord's patients. They're also tackling a mountain of challenges at home and work, hoping to find some relief.

Interactivity

This is another key feature of our product. We value the opinion of each participant, so the main medical points of the series are accompanied by interactive elements.

Participants have the opportunity to flip through the pages of patients' medical records, sleep
and headache diaries, and view Dr. Nord's notes and appointments. Thanks to the interactivity,
each participating doctor will be able to express their opinion on the diagnoses and treatment methods of the patient characters.

Therapeutic Purpose

Our goal was to create a high-quality edutainment product. The biggest challenge was finding the right balance between the two main goals of this educational technology: to entertain and to educate. How could we ensure that the medical and artistic components of our story would blend seamlessly into a cohesive whole?

Interactive Simulator for Practicing Social and Psychological Counseling Skills

The interactive simulator ‘Development of Socio-Psychological Counseling Skills for Individuals Emerging from Domestic and Gender-Based Populations’ was developed for UNFPA, the United Nations Population Fund, with support from the Government of Great Britain. It is designed to assist specialized service professionals in honing their counseling skills by immersing them in real-life scenarios encountered by people seeking help. The simulator consists of two modules, encompassing both aspects of counselors' work: unannounced visits to domestic violence cases and assisting clients who seek help voluntarily.

This project is characterized by the creation of a ‘live’counseling environment with the practical assessment of the knowledge and skills already possessed by consultants. We have effectively implemented this approach in collaboration with a video production partner for the simulator.

Version 1

Version 2

For the successful implementation of the interactive simulator, our team accomplished the following tasks:

  1. Developed the project concept.

  2. Methodically designed educational solutions, incorporating a modern micro-learning approach and leveraging proven adult learning practices.

  3. Created a minimalist design in line with the client's brand book, featuring a calm color scheme that minimizes distractions for simulator participants, allowing them to focus on the content.

  4. Utilized our own experience in creating video projects, including technical expertise and supervision of video production work, to enhance the simulator's immersive nature and improve educational outcomes for the target audience.

  5. Implemented an adaptive technical solution that incorporates user-friendly navigation tools, ensuring a seamless and user-friendly experience while using the simulator.

Module 1:

Counseling Clients of Mobile Social and Psychological Assistance Teams for Individuals Affected by Domestic and Gender-Based Violence

In Module 1, participants are required to provide counseling to four clients facing urgent life situations.

Structure

The structure of each consultation is linear, which allows participants to learn how to advise clients based on a well-thought-out plan. This approach enables us to create a ‘training field’ for practicing the various stages of counseling for each of the four cases.

Organization of the Simulation

During the simulator, participants are required to select the most appropriate dialogue options (questions and statements) to facilitate conversations and uncover the problems faced by victims, allowing them to establish contact and provide timely socio-psychological assistance. This selection process is facilitated through an interactive dialogue simulator tool.

The victim's responses are always presented in video format. This approach maximizes participant engagement in the learning process, ensuring that it closely mirrors the real-world conditions of their work.

In addition to enhancing counseling competence, the first module includes practical exercises for mastering the fundamentals of counseling preparation, its conclusion, and best practices for preventing professional burnout.

Module 2:

Counseling Clients Seeking Primary Social-Psychological Counseling Services

Structure

The module comprises three different client scenarios. Each consultation has a branching structure, designed to encourage participants to practice their counseling skills through simulated dialogues with clients. The objective is to ‘guide’ the client through the five stages of counseling and secure an agreement for further assistance. We’ve strived to make the dialogue simulator closely resemble the actual fieldwork of a consultant, where any mistake in intervention selection can jeopardize the client’s trust and the consultant’s ability to provide effective help.

Organization of the Simulation

In this module, we also used the interactive dialogue simulator tool. Participants are required to select appropriate responses (questions and statements) in order to understand the client's issues, establish a trusting rapport, and identify ways to provide assistance.

Each customer’s story is presented as an interactive choice tree. The course of the dialogue with the client hinges on the consultant's choices. These conversations closely mimic real-life scenarios - making an ill-considered remark or asking the wrong question can terminate the consultation. By modeling dialogues in this manner, we motivate consultants and encourage them to acquire the necessary skills.

To create the impression of a live conversation, we present the client's responses in video format, while the consultant's intervention options are presented in text form accompanied by audio. To aid participants in better understanding the client, the videos include color-coded emotion indicators.

‘Live Without Illusions’ Teaches Young People to Avoid Violence in Relationships

The gamified online quest ‘Live without illusions’* was created by the CSO ‘La Strada - Ukraine’ and Technomatix to teach young women and men how to reduce violence in relationships and create a safe environment for themselves, their families, and friends.

This educational program is designed for young people aged 17 to 25, with a particular focus on vulnerable youth, especially those among internally displaced persons. This is what determines its format – a gamified online quest for smartphones which serves two primary purposes:

  • It provides information on the manifestations and consequences of domestic and gender-based violence, as well as recommendations on how to build a relationship safely or leave a toxic one.

  • It helps relieve tension when studying an emotionally sensitive topic and allows participants to engage in virtual events, gaining personal experience in countering violence.

The educational solution was created with the assistance of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in Ukraine under the UN Recovery and Peacebuilding Programme, with financial support from the European Union.

The Gaming Formula

We have incorporated a high level of gamification and reflexivity as key features of this training program. The educational strategy is designed to enhance participants' abilities to analyze relationships, adopt a safe approach to behavior, and provide assistance to victims of violence. To achieve this, we have crafted a version of the world that is familiar to young people from their childhood.

Some expected features for participants in the online quest include:

2 characters (a boy and a girl)

for viewing their stories

4 locations

for scrolling through the reels

8

realistic

situations

for learning through visual novels and engaging in active learning via mini-games

8

types

of

violence

in

relationships

for understanding the reality that exists

Become Heroes Who Create a Safe World

The key idea of the online quest is to allow participants to have a brief glimpse into the lives of those who collect likes on social networks, flaunting cute photos, to learn to recognize violence in relationships. We designed the online quest to resemble a social network concept, featuring intriguing stories, emotionally rich short videos, and integrated mini-games. The visual format of the social network required us to replicate its functionality, allowing users to scroll through information and revisit stories and videos purportedly presented by the main characters.

Characters

We created six original characters, each with vibrant personalities and emotions, to make their stories more convincing.

We name the types of violence to recognize them. And we mark them with hashtags so it is easy to find the way.

Implementation of Elearning Solutions

We have developed an educational program for learning on smartphones. This involves a vertical screen orientation and a specific organization of visual material. We have also implemented technical solutions for transitions between parts of the online quest (locations). To scroll through the ‘feed’ or move to another slide, players could touch the smartphone screen anywhere much like they would do with social media. An excellent design godsend is the use of animated panoramas when transitioning to different locations within the online quest.

#PARTY

#SHOPPING_MALL

#SOCIAL_MEDIA

#CAFFE

Mini-games

We have developed 4 exciting mini-games, each corresponding to a different location. It is through these game formats that knowledge can be acquired easily and comprehensively. Players can engage in the following activities:

1

Build a Tower of Trust from non-violent words

2

Create an Economy of Relations for comfortable interaction

3

Find a way out of the Labyrinth of Violence

4

Decode Words to prevent violence

As participants complete practical tasks at locations, they collect artifacts in the form of rose-colored glasses, which help the quest's characters dispel illusions in their relationships.

About

Is it merely a bank for clients? This is an entire ecosystem dedicated to safeguarding both clients and employees! This is precisely what we aimed to showcase in the onboarding course for Raiffeisen Bank Ukraine.

Innovation

Opportunities

Support

Requirements

We had to equip new employees with a comprehensive understanding of Raiffeisen Bank Ukraine's system, effectively conveying the organization's mission and values, and immersing them in a dynamic and inspiring environment that fosters personal and professional development.

Context

Raiffeisen Bank Ukraine has undergone a transformation, positioning itself as Rife. It’s easier. It simplifies banking, illuminating the path for those who place their trust in its flexible and modern services, and it upholds its commitment to clients and employees.

Concept

We've "revived" Raiffeisen Bank Ukraine, demonstrating that it extends beyond traditional branches and ATMs. It is an extraordinary ecosystem without boundaries, erasing the line between office and surroundings. It's a place where the pulse of life beats, and Rife is the driving force behind every facet.

Educational Strategy

We welcomed the newbies to witness the multifaceted system of the bank firsthand. Designed an interactive map with zones for participants to explore. Through an active engagement strategy, they immediately delve into uncovering the uniqueness of Rife. And then...

  • Providing a step-by-step introduction to the scale of the Bank projects and fostering team cohesion and support by the means of interactions with learning objects in every zone on the map.

  • Utilizing preview tasks to enhance participant engagement throughout the learning journey.

  • Implementing interactive tasks that serve as both knowledge checks and sources of valuable, motivating feedback, ensuring the smooth absorption of knowledge.

Creative Design

Raif's new positioning champions simplicity and clarity. We've also integrated this concept into the course design, ensuring that participants find it intuitively understandable. We've developed a user-friendly, easy navigation system and course management tools. Our instructions are meticulously crafted to enhance the learning experience. The brand identity consistently reinforces the message that ‘Our Bank is You’.

The interactive course map

takes center stage, serving as the foundation upon which other design concepts revolve. This map does more than just depict the participant's learning journey; it showcases how Raif seamlessly integrates a diverse array of elements, such as history, values, corporate culture, customer service standards, learning opportunities, and development. What's more, outside the Bank's realm, there's ample inspiration to be found in the enchanting Ukrainian landscape!

It all began with a sketch

Every detail on the map received careful attention from our designers. We held multiple meetings with the client to faithfully recreate the layout of bank branches, relaxation areas, meeting rooms, and training spaces. We even highlighted familiar cafes and the vicinity around the main office.

Through our graphics, we immersed course participants in their work environment, ensuring they were well-acquainted with every aspect.

In the Building

The interior was decked out in the client's brand colors, following their Brand Book to a tee. The course's style is realistic, portraying actual objects in real-life settings. Every chair and poster serves a purpose: to educate and lead directly to specific knowledge.

Outside the Window

Raiffeisen Bank Ukraine's reach extends far and wide, and Raiffeisen's welcoming spirit knows no bounds. We showcased a diverse array of interests that hold a special place in the hearts of our employees. After all, work should make room for each person's unique "getaway."

People Are Paramount

Every zone is pulsating with the vibrancy of people – employees diligently fulfilling their duties or taking moments to relax, and clients receiving top-notch services, thoroughly satisfied with choosing Raiffeisen Bank Ukraine. We underscored the significance of the human resources and placed individuals front and center in the course.

Instructional Design

The course is structured with a slide composition, encompassing 5 distinct themes, each of which corresponds to a specific room on the map. There is a deliberate sequencing of educational content, ensuring that topics are gradually unveiled to the participant. To ensure high learning outcomes we've employed the following methodological framework:

Complex Approach: Each theme comprises both theoretical content and interactive tasks.

Interactive Learning: To access the theory, participants must interact with learning objects in the room, such as clicking on a wall clock, exploring a map, using a terminal, or even engaging in conversations with employees. Each zone has its unique items and characters that facilitate the participant's learning experience.

Microlearning Techniques: We've employed microlearning techniques, particularly interactive tools that present information in a gradual manner. Participants consume content in manageable portions to avoid cognitive overload.

Inclusive Access: Inclusivity is a priority. We've provided voiced information and added subtitles to ensure all participants can access the course.

Text and Graphics Integration: The participant encounters a harmonious blend of text and accompanying graphics. This organic fusion enhances memorization.

Friendly Tone of Voice: The course maintains a friendly tone, acting as a bridge of trust and a valuable source of information that employees genuinely require.

Knowledge Check Strategy: A combination of preview tasks with leading questions and summative assessment is strategically used to encourage active learning, assess attention levels, and gauge knowledge acquisition.

Interactive Answers: Responses to questions not only provide feedback but also breathe life into objects within the locations. Yes, you read that correctly, keep reading.

Animation

How to bring an interactive course to life? Supplement with animation. And we've done just that!

Can you picture Friedrich Raiffeisen himself winking at the course participant and providing feedback after they answer a question? Quite the experience, isn't it? But there's more:

When the participant clicks on an active area on the map, the external space around it comes alive. Someone embarks on a business trip by plane, swimmers compete for a trophy, cyclists pedal away, and other locations are revived to demonstrate how one person's actions can set various processes in motion around them. A clever hint, don't you think?

Within these active areas, some objects also come to life. We emphasize the importance of content through dynamic visuals: rewinding time with a clock, highlighting the significance of preserving the idea established by the father of the Raiffeisen Group; making a call on an employee's work phone, underscoring the importance of supporting every single client.

The learning journey for course participants has become easier, perhaps even easier than it ever was. This path is genuine and authentic to Raiffeisen Bank Ukraine employees, who are well taken care of.

A Challenge with a Twist

The COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent lockdown have unquestionably presented new challenges to educators across Ukraine. This transition to online learning has also impacted vocational and technical schools. Adapting theoretical aspects of education to the digital realm is feasible, but what about practical training? The notion of delivering vocational and technical education in an electronic format initially appeared as a formidable challenge — a challenge we courageously embraced.

In June 2020, the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine reached out to the International Labor Organization (ILO) seeking assistance in the development of high-quality elearning solutions for VET professionals. Together, they collaboratively crafted a project aimed at supporting and modernizing vocational education, with a particular focus on elearning. Technomatix, as a recognized expert in this field, played a pivotal role in various stages of the project's implementation. To learn more about our contributions, continue reading!

How It Was?

Goal

The goal of this project is to showcase how audio-visual content, particularly training videos, can effectively be harnessed by TVET pedagogical staff to teach practical skills to their students at a distance.

Target Audience

Our audience comprises approximately 67,000 VET students specializing in the occupations of cooks, car mechanics, electricians, and tailors.

Key Features

In close collaboration with TVET schools and Methodological Centres in four different Ukrainian regions, we've developed more than 30 training videos, employing a wide array of audio-visual methods, from animated infographics to the seamless integration of screencast recordings.

Workflow

The creation of these videos commenced after conducting an in-depth study of the specific needs they must fulfill. Working alongside TVET instructors, we designed a structured storyline to enhance content comprehension and reached a consensus on various methods of information delivery that facilitate better retention.

“That’s a wrap!

How is it best to impart practical skills?

Through demonstration.

What's the most effective way to demonstrate in an
online learning environment?

By creating high-quality video content.

Indeed, our team transformed into a film crew. We visited vocational and technical educational institutions in four different cities across Ukraine and produced three dozen video lessons covering four distinct specializations:

cooking

automotive mechanics

electrical work

tailoring

Together with the teachers, our instructional designers and screenwriters meticulously curated the content of the video lessons. Now we're all a little more knowledgeable about electricity and auto mechanics. The versatility of shooting was a task brilliantly executed by our cameramen. We even had to operate a drone.

Afterward, all this footage was skillfully edited by our directors. And if a student happens to doze off during a video lesson, there's no need to wake them up. The beauty of video lessons is that they can watch them repeatedly.

‘I'm afraid of the camera and I forget
the text.’

‘Let's mix recorded voice-over and on-set narration’

‘Here I need to show the formula and give an explanation.’

‘No problem, let's add graphics to the video.’

‘How do we show how the software works?’

‘No problem, let's add graphics to the video.’

And many more different questions, to which we were collectively seeking answers as a team. However, the primary concern on which we all unanimously agree is...

And the Oscar goes to…
